We have so much to be joyful about during the month of December, and we can’t wait to share all of the festive cheer we have going on at the salon this month with you. First and foremost, we are so grateful for each other—every stylist and every artist on the team makes Avenue 42 what it is. And, of course, we can’t forget about our amazing clients. You support us and share your biggest moments with us in the salon and at your holiday celebrations, and we are so honored to be a part of your lives. We’re also so thankful for and excited about all of the glamorous holiday celebrations we get to attend this year—and the looks we get to put together for them! It truly is the most wonderful time of the year, and we can’t wait to spend it with our Avenue 42 family!
But besides the twinkling lights, the delightful holiday treats, and all of the festive December deals, we are looking forward to all of the high-glam looks and trends we get to create this holiday season. Two of our favorites include retro Hollywood-style waves and full glam, glowy makeup. While it can be challenging to keep your skin moisturized and luminous with the chilly air and wintry weather, there are a couple of products we keep stocked at the salon—and in our makeup bags—that can help you achieve that dewy glow. To match our glammed-out makeup, we are loving old Hollywood hair for our Holiday style this year—think Donna Reed in It’s a Wonderful Life. Our Cover Girl of December is Valerie Clarke, formerly Valerie Fanelli. Valerie married her sweetheart, David, a few weeks ago at Veritas Vineyards & Winery in Afton, Virginia, just outside of Charlottesville. For her big celebration, Valerie went with glamorous Hollywood waves done by the talented Taylor Ellis for her nuptials, in line with our hairstyle of the month, and a full glam look for herself and her bridal party. The fun didn't stop there Valerie and her bridal party were treated to a pampering session by the talented artists at Avenue 42, who recreated Hailey Bieber-inspired makeup looks. Picture this: a palette of healthy blush, delicate pink eyeshadow tones, and lips that exuded glamour with a touch of overlined nude perfection. The result was a WOW factor that elevated the entire celebration, making it a truly memorable and visually stunning affair.

Our artist of December is Krista Rose Parker Delvalle. While she is still one of the up-and-coming hair stylists at Avenue 42, she has over 10 years of professional makeup experience under her belt. She’s done it all over the past decade—on-location glam, bridal beauty, and editorial looks. She is one of the best in the business for romantic, soft glam, as well as bold and expertly blended color. Get on her books while there’s space—you won’t want to miss your opportunity to get your special day beauty or hair done by her.

Our Favorite Makeup Look of the Month
While we love saying “I do” to all of the bridal appointments we book throughout the year, we’re so excited to create some gorgeous holiday glam for all of our Ave42 babe’s Christmas and New Year’s Eve party needs this season. We are obsessed with this full glam look that founder Natalie created. She used Hourglass Cosmetics Birch concealer and Kosas’ Revealer Concealer Shade 1 to brighten up the look and Eylure Wispy Light No. 117 lashes to add some flutter power. Natalie also highlighted this client’s natural inner glow with Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Shade 9N and polished this look off with just a touch of Sigma Beauty GlowKissed palette in the inner corner of the eye, the tip of the nose, and on the high parts of the cheekbones. She tied the look together with just a swipe of Nudestix’s Cherry Blossom Babe blush before she sent this beauty on her merry way.
Hairstyles To Watch This Month
It is the season of glam and we are loving these old-school waves more and more. There’s nothing that says holiday hair like luxe Hollywood waves, especially when they’re sculpted in a vibrant shade like this copper by master artist Dena LeAnn. The cowboy copper trend has been filling both our Instagram feeds and our salon books in the past few months, but we are loving this lighter, more traditional shade for the holiday season. Regardless of your hair hue, these sleek starlet curls are sure to make a wave at whatever function you make an appearance at this holiday season.
