It’s December, which means it is officially holiday season. But in addition to the major holidays coming up, we have so many other reasons to celebrate at Avenue 42 this month. We are officially part of the Scout Guide family in Richmond this year, and we celebrated this incredible opportunity with a full-on photo shoot at the salon. And while every single model and artist played their part to the fullest on set to make the shoot everything that it was, we want to highlight one special artist and one special model this month.
So while the days may be getting shorter, they are certainly getting brighter—we can smell the Christmas magic in the air. And what better gift to get under the tree than an R+Co product from their new, cutting edge line, Bleu? We chose the perfect R+Co treat to restore nourish dry, winter hair and bring It back to life for our featured product this month. December is full of Christmas-time magic in the city, and we have one more December surprise to share before we’re officially in holiday crunch time. We could not be more excited to announce the gorgeous Bianca Hill as our December #Ave42CoverGirl. We met Bianca on set at our shoot for the 2023 edition of The Scout Guide, and we haven’t stopped thinking about her stunning glam and hair since. Bianca wore a gorgeous warm glam bridal look with soft, free flowing curls, styled by our one-and-only Bre’Ona Jones, paired with a stunning deep V-neck white dress for our feature in The Scout Guide.
Every year, The Scout Guide puts together a comprehensive list of all of the best business in the city, from salons to boutiques to real estate agencies. We could not be more honored or excited to be included in the 2023 edition of The Scout Guide and join one of the most elite directories in the city. To celebrate, we put together a photo shoot to show all of the bridal magic our team creates for countless new couples.
And while we are so excited that Bianca will be in our Scout Guide spread, she is so much more than just a pretty face. As both a model and a casting director for United Casting Agency, she knows the business inside and out. Bre’Ona Jones (@breonac_26) has the Midas touch. She is not only a traveling makeup artist, but a master bridal hairstylist and our December Artist of the Month.
She has made many #Ave42 bridal glam dreams come true as part of our world-class bridal team. Bre’Ona specializes in traditional bridal glam using airbrush, and she is renowned for the intricate updos she creates. Bre’Ona’s favorite styles to create include half-up half-down looks and curled styles, which she absolutely perfected on our December Cover Girl, Bianca Hill. When she’s not slaying bridal glam and hair, she does a mean blowout and gives our clients endless volume and length with hand-tied extensions.

Our Favorite Makeup Look of the Month
Our favorite makeup look of the month comes to us all the way from Peters Canyon Regional Park in Orange County, California. Our own Becky Wright Tash created this gorgeous bronzed look for this beauty’s family photo shoot. The dusty mauve lip and natural, sun-kissed eye makeup were the perfect fit for this captivating desert background and the amazing views. Our artist of the month, Bre’Ona Jones, created these stunning loose, raven curls that gave this beauty just the volume and texture she needed for her big shoot.
Hairstyles To Watch This December
We can not get enough of this gorgeous half-up, half-down style by Erika Colleen this month. We love the simple yet sophisticated infinite knot that the two braids lead into, and as always, Erika created the perfect loose curls for this gorgeous client. Heat protection is everything to us at Avenue 42, so Erika used R + Co’s Hypersonic Heat Styling Mist to prevent heat damage and the line’s Featherlight Hairspray to set everything in place without weighing down this airy style.
