In honor of the new year, we are looking back at some of our favorite looks, moments, and products from 2022—one of those being January Cover Girl Sara Shields Fernandez’ beautiful fall wedding. Sara’s Pippin Hill ceremony was so beautiful that we couldn’t help sharing the experience with you. We’re also so excited to show you all of the beauty staples that got us through this holiday season—where would any of us really be without our trusty sparkle palettes and deep conditioning masques?
Another 2022 moment we won’t forget? Our beautiful holiday party at La Grotta. We had so much amazing food and sweet moments with the team. It’s truly a special moment when we are able to get together outside of the salon and celebrate the season with each other. Here’s to many more stunning weddings, amazing looks, and fun times together.

Our stunning January Cover Girl is Sara Shields Fernandez, one of the beautiful brides we had the privilege of serving on her big day last September. Jane Steele, all-star hair stylist and glam artist, worked her magic on Sarah’s stunning platinum hair and gave her soft, yet sculpted, romantic curls for her big day. Jane brought out this bride’s gorgeous sea blue eyes and her stunning complexion with a simple yet sophisticated makeup look and a subtle sparkle, while Ave42’s dynamic glam duo, Bre’Ona Jones and founder Natalie Gordon Dunton, treated Sarah's bridal party to once-in-a-lifetime glam.
Sara and her new hubby celebrated their big day at the Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards, one of the most sought-after wedding destinations in Virginia wine country, on a warm, sunny day in late September. The epitome of a modern bride, Sara wore a simple, yet stunning satin gown with a traditional sweetheart neckline and a mermaid skirt. While Sara came to Virginia all the way from the Northeast, she worked with Charlottesville-based, nationally recognized wedding planner Jonathan Groves. We could not be more honored that she chose Ave42 for her bridal glam team—her wedding is truly one we will never forget!

Copper has quickly climbed the ranks as one of the top hair color trends of 2022, and we don’t see this gorgeous warm shade going anywhere this year. Jane Steele slayed this client’s hair with the perfect, rich color—and do you see all of that dimension?! Soft curls are a great way to show off your new color’s vibrancy and dimension, and we simply can’t get over how radiant this light auburn turned out.
