Happy June! It’s officially summer, and we are officially taking over the West End! It’s been a few weeks since the grand opening of our new, second Avenue 42 location on Patterson Avenue, and things are finally in full swing at the new salon and extension bar. And while you may see a few new faces at the new spot—we’ve brought on a few of the most talented stylists in the area to break in the new location—you’ll also see some of your favorite OG Avenue 42 stylists. Summer is one of our favorite seasons when it comes to beauty trends. And what says “summer” louder than long, luscious mermaid locks? That’s why we are SO excited about the extension bar we are flaunting at our new West End location. Perfect timing? We certainly think so! Whether you want a little more volume or a lot more length, our Avenue 42 extension artists will be able to create the look of your dreams, even if your natural hair isn’t on the same page. Regardless of whether your summer look includes long and luscious layers or a short and stylish cut, this season is all about embracing effortless beauty and feeling your best, most glam self.
One of our favorite parts of both Avenue 42 locations is the clients. That’s why we wanted to give back to those who make Avenue 42 what it is with a social media giveaway and a free makeover. This month’s cover girl is the gorgeous winner of our giveaway, and we can’t wait to show her (and her new look!) off to you. We also can’t wait to show off all of our favorite looks and products of the season. This month, we are loving all things extra-glam when it comes to our makeup and our self-care routines, from smoky eyes to the most nourishing, hydrating hair oils. Our Ave42 brides and babes mean the world to us. They give us so much love and support, so the least we can do is give back to the community that pours so much into our salon family. This spring, we ran a giveaway for a complete makeover to one of our lucky followers. We are so excited to show off our gorgeous winner, Sarah Natale, and her new look, created by Avenue 42 owner and founder Natalie and hair color connoisseur Richard Thomas.
Sarah is a media coordinator at a local marketing firm that works with businesses across all industries. She also runs her own media presence in the form of her Instagram, where she shares all of her favorite things, from her latest home decor buys to her adorable puppy, Toby Jack. Sarah is also a new fiancée, as of December, and we can’t wait to see all of the photos from her gorgeous day when it comes.
But for now, we are just admiring the results of her stunning makeover. Sarah went with a cool, ashy dimensional blonde color upgrade with blonding expert Richard Thomas, and a pretty, natural glam. Richard created loose, natural curls to highlight her stunning new color, while Natalie gave this blue-eyed beauty a gorgeous, lifted eye makeup look with a precision angled blush and a lush set of falsies.
We had so much fun with Sarah in our new space, and we truly can’t wait to see her back in our chairs soon. Our monthly cover girl is always a woman who inspires us with her beauty, her brains, and her heart. But the truth is, all of our gorgeous clients inspire us and keep us coming to the salon every day with a full heart. Our June Artist of the Month is Jahna Parker, a member of our nationally recognized wedding glam team at Avenue 42. Though Jahna is a Jersey girl by birth, she is a Virginia girl at heart, and she has spent the last three years of her beauty career with Avenue 42. She’s been perfecting her craft for almost a decade, and her favorite part of the job is getting to see the state’s most beautiful wedding venues when she does on-location glam for her bridal clients. She creates some of the chicest, most sophisticated updos we’ve seen, and she’s definitely a favorite among #ave42 brides.
